Hi there! You're a dancer and I needed some well, idk. Motivation, I guess? aha. I'm a classically trained dancer and I only got into hip hop this year because of dance crew. And I sometimes watch footage of our performances like today, and well I don't suck like I know the choreo and stuff but like the "swag" or "style" seems like it isn't there. Do you think improvement just goes up from there? or like How are you so good. :P Inbox Msg me back pls. :)

Hello :) Mmm well I’m originally more classically trained too and I only started doing hip hop seriously this year. This is definitely an advantage in that you have a lot of good technique and foundation. The only bad thing about it is that it’s harder to get hip hop styles and pick them up faster. I definitely struggle with textures too. But what I try to do is really watch the choreographers or people who you think do certain pieces really well and try to adopt the same persona that they do when they do the piece. Watching videos of different choreographers with different styles will also help. Ask your captains and choreographers to watch you and give you critiques. Also take class and don’t be afraid to take classes that are out of your comfort zone. This is definitely something I need to do hahah. Good luck! (:
